Round-up: ELT events

As we head into lots of ELT conferences, we thought we’d give a brief round-up of some the events coming up.

IATEFL PCEs

In the lead up to the IATEFL conference and exhibition there will be a range of PCEs from different special interest groups on 10th April. These will include English for Specific Purposes & BALEAP (joint PCE), ES(O)L, Global Issues, Learning Technologies, Materials Writing and many more. Each PCE is a full day event, which means attendees can only register for one PCE. You can download the full line up of SIGs on the IATEFL website now.

IATEFL Conference and Exhibition

The Annual IATEFL conference and exhibition will then be running from 11th – 14th April with ELT professionals coming together to discuss, reflect on and develop ideas. There will also be the chance to view the latest ELT publications, products and services available. Online booking is now closed, however registration will be available onsite.

 IATEFL Online

In addition to the conference there will be online coverage for anyone unable to attend, starting on 10th April and running from 9:00am each morning. Broadcasting will be for 8 hours a day, live from the British Council Manchester Online studio with plenary speaker sessions, interviews with presenters and session videos. Sign up and find out more here. You can also follow the twitter handle @IATEFLOnline/#IATEFL, #IATEFL2015 and on Facebook: IATEFLOnline.

MaWSIG May

The Materials Writing SIG will be doing a series of webinars throughout May. Details will be coming soon, follow the Facebook page to find out more.

Innovate ELT

The Innovate ELT conference will be in Barcelona from 8th-9th May. With a range of speakers from inside and outside of the ELT industry, listeners will get an insight into what’s happening right now, and where the speakers see things going as we move into the future. There will also be the chance to observe sample lessons and participate in open discussions. You can view a list of all the speakers and find out more about the conference via the website.

ELTons awards

The British Council’s ELTons awards celebrate innovation in English language teaching and the resources used to help English language learners. This year they will be taking on 4th June in London.
